Imhoof-Blumer examines civic coinages of Lydia, including Greek and Roman provincial issues, through new specimens, corrected readings, magistrates, local cults, city epithets, and historical geography. Six plates illustrate rare and diagnostic types. The work is particularly useful for small bronzes and poorly published private-collection coins and for tracing the origin of attributions later incorporated into BMC Lydia and subsequent city corpora.

Because the work predates much of the modern archaeological, die-study, epigraphic, and provenance evidence, verify dates, mint or ruler assignments, legend readings, authenticity, and current specimen locations against current corpora and databases.
