Greek Civic Coinage of Asia Minor

A route through Recueil general, Imhoof-Blumer, BMC Ionia, BMC Mysia, and related catalogues for civic and provincial coinage from western and northern Asia Minor.

Use this path when a coin is from a city of Asia Minor and the citation points to Recueil general, Imhoof-Blumer, or a BMC regional volume. The Recueil general fascicles are the major starting point for Bithynia, Paphlagonia, Pontus, Galatia, Phrygia, and related Roman provincial civic series. They are especially useful for local eras, magistrates, city epithets, homonoia types, and legacy Recueil numbers.

Imhoof-Blumer’s Kleinasiatische Munzen is better when the question concerns rare specimens, corrected attributions, unusual legends, or private-collection material. The BMC volumes remain useful for older English catalogue numbers and for quick specimen-based checking by region.
