Die Münzen Akarnaniens

Imhoof-Blumer’s compact study treats the civic and federal coinages of Acarnania, with three plates and close attention to ethnic legends, magistrates, symbols, denominations, and the development of the Acarnanian League. It is useful for identifying rare western Greek issues, following old collection provenances, and understanding the basis of classifications later used in BMC and regional studies. The plates remain important for types known from few specimens.

Because the work predates much of the modern archaeological, die-study, epigraphic, and provenance evidence, verify dates, mint or ruler assignments, legend readings, authenticity, and current specimen locations against current corpora and databases.
