Rogers continues the study of Seleucid Tyre beyond Newell’s first coinage, using seven plates, dies, monograms, fabric, and hoard evidence to separate later phases of production. The work is useful for emission chronology, the transition between rulers, local control systems, and the identification of Tyrian issues that resemble neighboring Phoenician series. It should be used together with Newell’s earlier monograph and subsequent Seleucid corpora.

Because the work predates much of the modern archaeological, die-study, epigraphic, and provenance evidence, verify dates, mint or ruler assignments, legend readings, authenticity, and current specimen locations against current corpora and databases.
