Newell isolates the earliest Seleucid issues of Tyre through types, monograms, fabric, hoard evidence, and die links, illustrated on eight plates. The work is useful for distinguishing Tyrian output from neighboring Phoenician mints, arranging emissions, and connecting local production with Seleucid political control. Its specimen lists and plates also preserve coins from collections that were later dispersed or renumbered.

Because the work predates much of the modern archaeological, die-study, and provenance evidence, verify chronology, mint and ruler assignments, legend readings, authenticity, and present specimen locations against current corpora and databases.
