American Journal of Numismatics, vols. 31–32, covers several consecutive issues of the first series. These volumes bring together research notes and institutional reporting from the late 1890s. Greek specialists should search beyond formal articles: correspondence, auction summaries, collection reports, obituaries, and bibliographic notices often contain references to individual coins and dispersed cabinets. The run is useful for provenance reconstruction and for documenting the reception of contemporary European scholarship. Use the original issue and page number, rather than only the bound-run title, when citing a specific item.

Because much of the material predates relevant archaeological evidence and modern standards of provenance documentation, verify dates, mint assignments, typologies, reported findspots, and ownership histories against current scholarship and surviving collection records.
