Regling provides a focused catalogue of Priene’s coinage from the classical through Roman provincial periods, with three plates and detailed treatment of legends, magistrates, denominations, civic types, and imperial issues. The book is useful for city-level chronology, the identification of small bronzes, and the study of Priene’s cult and civic imagery. Its catalogue numbers and specimen references remain a key to older citations and to coins from collections later dispersed.

Because the work predates much of the modern archaeological, die-study, epigraphic, and provenance evidence, verify dates, mint or ruler assignments, legend readings, authenticity, and current specimen locations against current corpora and databases.
