Imhoof-Blumer’s Zur griechischen und römischen Münzkunde presents further studies and corrections across Greek and Roman provincial coinage, illustrated on ten plates. It is especially valuable for rare civic bronzes, precise legend readings, magistrates, local eras, city attributions, and iconographic identifications based on specimens in private and museum collections. Many brief discussions supplied the foundation for later catalogue entries, so the original plate and argument remain worth checking.
Because the work predates much of the modern archaeological, die-study, epigraphic, and provenance evidence, verify dates, mint or ruler assignments, legend readings, authenticity, and current specimen locations against current corpora and databases.
