Von Fritze’s regional study treats the principal coinages of Mysia, including Cyzicus, Pergamon, and numerous smaller civic mints, with nine plates and close attention to types, legends, magistrates, and chronological grouping. It is particularly useful for Cyzicene and other electrum, civic bronzes, and the differentiation of mints whose types overlap. Researchers can use its specimen citations to resolve older references and to trace coins through German and international collections.

Because the work predates much of the modern archaeological, die-study, and provenance evidence, verify chronology, mint and ruler assignments, legend readings, authenticity, and present specimen locations against current corpora and databases.
