The third Weber volume catalogues the eastern portion of the collection, including Anatolian cities, Seleucid and Ptolemaic issues, Syria, Egypt, Cyrenaica, and related kingdoms. It is useful for local legends, eras, control marks, dynastic portraits, and the history of specimens that passed through Weber’s cabinet. The plates often allow a modern coin to be matched even when a later citation omits weight or provenance.
The catalogue reflects early twentieth-century attributions and the collection was subsequently dispersed. Verify current ownership, authenticity, mint and ruler assignments, and die relationships through later sale catalogues, museum databases, and modern regional corpora.
