The second Berlin catalogue covers mainland Greece and the islands, arranging royal, federal, and civic coinages geographically. Its specimen-level descriptions, weights, legends, types, and collection history help resolve old Berlin references and compare coins that may now have revised inventory records or attributions. The volume is especially useful for provenance research, for identifying early museum acquisitions, and for checking what evidence was available to late nineteenth-century scholars.

Because the catalogue predates later acquisitions, wartime losses, revised inventory systems, and modern die studies, verify every specimen, provenance, mint assignment, and legend against the current Berlin Münzkabinett database and recent regional literature.
