This half-volume is a city-by-city corpus of the coinages of Odessos and Tomis, extending from autonomous Greek issues into the Roman provincial period. It assembles legends, magistrates, denominations, metals, types, and known specimens, and its organization makes it useful for identifying civic issues, following changes in local iconography, and resolving older AMNG references. Researchers should also mine its specimen citations for coins in nineteenth-century public and private collections.
Because the work predates much of the archaeological and die-study evidence now available, check its chronology, ruler sequences, mint attributions, and readings of worn legends against current regional corpora, Roman Provincial Coinage, hoard evidence, and online museum records.
