Ashton re-examines a group of drachms that had been assigned to several different places, bringing the surviving specimens into a die study. He proposes a Carian setting under the Hecatomnids while leaving the precise mint uncertain. The article is useful both for recognizing the series and for tracing why earlier geographical assignments were questioned; its proposed historical setting should be kept distinct from a securely identified mint.
