This alternate digitization contains the same 1906 work in which Hill uses selected Greek coins to discuss historical events, rulers, civic institutions, and political change. It is useful for tracing influential historical interpretations and for locating concise discussions of well-known types. The second scan may resolve pages or illustrations that are defective in the other copy, but it is not a separate edition and should not receive a distinct bibliographic citation.
Because the work predates much of the modern archaeological, die-study, epigraphic, and provenance evidence, verify dates, mint or ruler assignments, legend readings, authenticity, and current specimen locations against current corpora and databases.
