Ashton brings together six related issues of pseudo-Rhodian drachms and examines their connections and proposed origins in central Greece. Types, inscriptions, controls, and die relationships are read alongside the complications introduced by countermarking. The study supplies the foundation for his later additions of mainland specimens; it also shows why a Rhodian-looking design is insufficient evidence for an island mint.
