ANS Numismatic Notes and Monographs, no. 15

NNM 15 is a compact ANS study devoted to a defined numismatic problem rather than a general handbook. Its value lies in the close description of individual types, legends, and mint evidence and in the documentation of specimens available to the author in the early 1920s. Researchers should use its catalogue and plates to resolve legacy citations and to trace coins through older public or private collections, while preserving the work’s own numbering in references.

Because the work predates much of the archaeological and die-study evidence now available, check its absolute dates, mint assignments, die sequences, and reconstructions of incompletely recorded hoards against later hoard publications, current die studies, updated corpora, and verified museum provenances.
