467 45. Æ 7m . Gr. 0.45. — Even type to g. F Protome of a goat to g., returning the head. Concave field. Mus. of Berlin. Of coins to little close similar have summer attributed to Halicarnassus by Borrell, Num. Chrono. IX, p. 152. We could propose also Alinda , of which the pegasus is a of types monetary. 46. Æ 14m . Gr. 2.62. — Hairless head of Heracles on the right, covered with the remains of lion, tied in front the neck. c. F — Eagle standing Dr. c. 47. Æ ll m . Gr. 0.65. — Even head to Dr. c. p. F between an arc and a iron of arrow. Mus. Brit. 48. Æ 18m . — Same types and even monogram. Cab. from France. 49. Æ 18m . — Even head to Dr. r' Same monogram to g. of a iron arrow. 50. Æ 18m . — Even head to Dr. F Same monogram to Dr. of a quiver. Cab. from France. Pellerin, Collection III, pl. CXYI, 8. 51. Æ 18m . Pelta, ornate of a star; below A. c. p. F Same monogram at g. of a quiver. 52. Æ 18m . — Other, without A. Coll. Waddington. 53. Æ 20m . — Bow of ship to Dr. F Same monogram to g. of a aphlaston. Cab. from France. The monogram gives as initials of a name of city or dynast. For a name starting with N e we would have without doubt chose one other mono- gram, don't, of which se served p. ex. Neonteichos. Like he has summer said, p. 105, I don't have not of attribution to propose for the coins to the legend in n. These can be carian, pamphylian or pisidian, and the bronze next is maybe the number. .54. Æ 13 ra , — Head of Artemis? to Dr. c. p. F Sword (?) between in a crown of laurel. Mus. of Gotha. 59 *

— 468 55. Æ 31m . — yon(i)ayt.3M.yothta Bust draped of a child, He- rennius or Hostilian, to g. p' n go (n hff tt)Att o o a — hx Y 3.q a. i rr 3 . Men, in short clit and hat Phrygian, and the croissant on the shoulders, standing to g., tenant the apple of pine in the hand dr., and the scepter of the left. The manufactures being pisidian, he is almost certain that this bronze is of Papa, city to which M, Waddington (Revue Num. 1853, p. 43) has returned a currency to the effigy of Antoninus the Pious and at type of Men. Papa wore also the name of Tiberias , like the prove the currency cited and one autonomous of Museum of Berlin, types of bust of Tyche and of god Pan, doing the gesture of Yccnoaxoneiv. A second exemplary of No. 55 is in the collection of Mr. Waddington. The name of the magistrate is good preserved, but he no has more of traces of the name of people. The legend around of the head, the same on both copies, rest incomprehensible and without doubt she was already for the engraver, who was good far away to be a artist. 56. /R 10m . — 469 — 62. dh 9m . Gr. 0.61. — Remains of a protome of lion of face. fl Scorpio in a square hollow. Mus. Brit. Board J, No. 18. As a guy we don't knows the scorpion that by the coins of Antiochus IV and of Jotapé, struck at first century of our era in Commagene , in Cilicia and in Lycaonia, — by an anepigraph bronze from the same provenance, Mionnet Y, 110, 1, — by a bronze of Magnesia in Lydia, Mionnet, Suppl. VII, 373, 269, — by a another from Laodicea in Syria, when the city already bore the name of Julia, Mionnet V, 243, 684, — and finally by one uncertain of Phoenicia or Egypt, Mionnet, Suppl. IX, 244, 128. Like symbol he figure on a stater of Maronée , Cat. of Mus. Brit. 126, 27, — on a of tetradrachms from Tarsus lion, p. 378, 32,-— and on a other, to types of Alexander, struck in Cilicia or in the neighborhood, Very, of Num. Wood Greek pl. XV, 4, and Thousand, X°. 1337. The small parts No. 60—62, prior to the time of Alexander, appear be of dioboles and of obols of system euboic and, in this case, they don't hardly suitable to the Cilicia, where we could think of the place because of Scorpio. Maybe do they come from a of cities or of islands of the Caries. 63. 14 ,n . Gr. 2.76. — Protome of a winged bull, with a bearded human face, to the right. p' opov behind a head hairless to the right. Beaded Line Framing and square hollow. “Choice” , pl. VII, No. 240. See Six, Zeitschrift for Num. VI, p. 85, 17 and 18. 64. dl ll m . Gr. 1.39. - Smooth. jt' Of the same corner that the previous. 65. Æ ll m . Gr. 1.40. — Types and legend of X°. 63, but the head has the hair raised in a bun. 66. A\ 6 ra . Gr. 0.71. — Type of No. 63. dd Hairless head , to g , the hair kinky. Same frame and square hollow. Mus. Brit. — Mus. of Berlin, gr. 0.50. 67. /R 10m . Gr. 1.10. — Crouching Sphinx to dr., the foot g. from the front lifted. dd o F o v. Head and squares of No. 63. Mus. Brit. In Asia the bull anthropomorphic se see in Mallos, higher p. 360, and in Cyprus, de Luynes Num. Cypr. pl. IV, 2. The sphinx is also a type cili- here, p. 372, and Cypriot. He it is therefore possible that the n. 63 to 67 be cilicians, like wants it Mr. Six, 1. c. p. 85.

Board J, No. 26. This piece comes from the collection of Mr. by Prokesch-Osten who published it in the Inedita of 1859, p. 24, pl. 111, 6, in attributing it to the Lycia. She is rather cilician. 69. 4R 16m . Gr. 3.36. — Hairless head from Heracles to right, covered with remains of lion. c. p. Jf Club and corytos; to g. fyf in a crown ; to Dr. X- 70. yft 9m . Gr. 0.50. — Other, the two monograms on the left. Coll. Waddington. 71. /R 15m . Gr. 3.02. - Other; to g. the monogram surrounded the crown j to Dr. mr. Mr. c. — See Very, of Num. Kings Greek pl. XVI, 11, gr. 3.10; Muller, Num. of Alexander p. 20, 2 ; Prokesch-Osten, Num. Zeitschr. II, 1870, p. 268, pl. XII, 6, gr. 3.13. Monograms of these parts correspond to those of gold staters and Alexander tetradrachms the Great, Muller, 1. c. pl. XI, No. 724—749, 1412 and 1413. All these coins are Asians, like the weight drachmas, No. 69 and 71, proves it. 72. Æ 10m . Gr. 1.30. — Head veiled and rounded of Tyche at Dr. R' fvp Arc and quiver. “Choice”, pl. VIII, No. 248. 73. Mus. of Vatican. Zei's fioukctiog se meeting on the coins of Mytilene. The name of IJÔQGvvog , who appears se relate to the character of reverse, is unknown. The bronze looks to those of Maionia in Lydia, to the head by Zevg ’OXv/utvioç. 76. Æ 17m . — (A i) k T y N N (A). Deer standing at Dr. c. p. pf 6Y0HNI a c ç. (ftccGTrjvcùv?). Cluster of grape on a sheet of vine, topped with three ears. c. p. Mus. from Copenhagen. According to the manufactures, this bronze don't can be classified nor to the Crete, nor to the Phocis, where VArtemis Dildynna was revered in a way special, but rather to Asia Minor and in particular to ia Lydia or to Phrygia (Sébasté?), since the type of the cluster of grape posed on a sheet of vine is the one of fractions of Cistophorus of the province Asia. 77. Æ 19m . Gr. 7.95. — Head hairless to dr., hairstyle, to this that he appears, of a hat or helmet sharp; behind ©. Edge flattened, pf Protome of a bridled and perhaps horned horse, running Dr. ; in front @ . “Choice”, pl. VIII, No. 247. This bronze appears hit in Asia, under the Seleucids. 78. 41 15m . The head of goalkeeper of hell Assyrian, Clermont-Ganneau, Review archaeol. 1879, II, p. 337, pl. XXV, is to compare.
