The 1906 volume includes major discussions of the earliest Graeco-Bactrian and Indo-Greek coinages, coinage connected with Babylon, Mysian material, and early Parthian and Armenian problems. It is useful for tracing the first scholarly groupings of eastern Hellenistic series, the reading of monograms and legends, and the use of museum and private-collection specimens in arguments about rulers and mints. Check the title page of the linked scan carefully, because at least one archive link associated with this entry resolves to a volume labeled 1866 rather than 1906.
Because the volume predates modern excavation standards, comprehensive die databases, and many subsequent hoard publications, verify dates, mint and ruler assignments, readings, and reported provenances against current corpora and the present location of cited specimens.
